I was lucky enough to get the revised edition, with extra content, from the author for review. I have to say that the whole concept of the book was really good. Its kind of like xmen!! Sam is living in a place for people with special abilities. She can read minds and is part of a Rent A Kid program where the people that run the place rents the kids out to high powered people. Sam is very adept at gathering secrets.
Then there is Drake. He isnt part of the program but has special abilities too. He goes to a surfing contest and ends up being kidnapped and drugged. He wakes strapped to a trolley being wheeled through a facility when he suddenly sees a girl. From that moment on his life changes.
When Sam sees Drake, is an instant connection. She hears him in her mind. Both their lives change forever at that moment.
I will say I loved the idea of Forbidden Mind. There were alot of twists and surprises that I didnt see coming but there were a few things that bothered me. The thing that bothered me the most was what happened to Sam and she didnt even freak out!! I mean if that happened to me I know Id freak but it didnt seem to bother her. Also I didnt like the fact that she was so complacent, both when she found out what was happening with the facility and with what happened her. I kept waiting for her to really break out and do something. Other than that I really liked the story and look forward to reading more.
